is a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
As of December 1, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 50,828, with 19,034 households and a population density of 2,000 persons per km². The total area is 24.88 km².
The modern city of Shiraoka was established on October 1, 2012, after the area that was previously Shiraoka-machi in Minamisaitama District's population increase necessitated the change to 'shi' (city). This leaves Minamisaitama District with just one municipality.〔(白岡町:来年10月1日、白岡市発足へ 町議会が可決 ) by Mainichi Shimbun, December 9, 2011 〕
